Research Interests: Muscarinic and adrenergic facilitatory mechanisms in peripheral nerves innervating the bladder, central transmitter release patterns associated with the development of detrusor hyperreflexia, and evaluation of efferent and afferent effects of botulinum toxin on the lower urinary tract.
Interaction of nicotinic and purinergic receptors in the bladder smooth muscle. Afferent effect of muscarinic and nicotinic receptor induced release of ATP and NO in the bladder urothelium.
